Sometimes we find joy in the most unexpected places. I found a little piece of pure joy at the QT (a local gas station). I was going through rough hair drama. First world problems, but to me at that moment in my life it was huge. I lost a ton of hair due to Covid and the ridiculous need to be insanely blond. My hair became so thin I felt like i needed so me type of wig to help me not feel gross everyday. So I bought a topper and left my hair alone for many months after which my hair started to come back. Bless Up !!!!
To make a very long story short, it was time to get rid of the topper and go natural. I had shorter hair than I had ever worn it before.
I my way to teach my very critical 8th graders I stopped at the QT for a fountain drink, hoping it would give me courage to face th
e day. I was not feeling good about myself, and was stressed about how the students would react to my new hair style. They are ruthless and do not sugar coat how they feel.
Right as I was getting the top to my soda a man
walked up. I thought i was in his way so I moved to the other side. He told me he wanted to let me know i had pretty hair. I was in shock shared with him how panicked I was to go back into the classroom with short hair. He told me to not worry about it, they were going to love it . I was in shock, how could he have known what I was feeling. I do not even know his name but he shared a piece of joy I will never forget. His kind words made that Friday the Best Day Ever. Lets join the movement and make someone elses day the Best Day Ever. A simple gesture goes a long way!!!
